This post is part of an ongoing series entitled ‘Picture Perfect’, published because of my wish to showcase some beautiful travel shots from around the world which didn’t quite make it into regular blog posts or which tell a story on their own and need few words, if any, to describe them.
At the end of my two-month long Vietnam adventure, I ended up in Singapore for a week. Singapore had always been on my travel-wish list, and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity to visit this little country, as the cheapest way to continue on my way to Australia was by catching an Emirates flight to Singapore. In this week’s picture perfect, I am sharing a few pictures from Singapore’s wonderful China Town. Enjoy!

Funny, this isn’t at all how I picture Singapore – I didn’t expect it to have areas that are so quaint! It’s a very different view. I like it. Maybe some day I’ll even get there myself. Until then, thanks for sharing your pictures.
Hi Cindy,
Singapore, like many other places, has a wonderful balance of old and new. I find it an extremely interesting and aesthetically beautiful city.
Great photos! I was just in Singapore 2 days ago, but only at the airport coming back from Australia. I wish I would have had time to check out what looks like such an interesting place.
Great photos
Beautiful photos! Singapore has always been on my travel wish list as well but I don’t know when I’ll ever get there!
I love all the colour you captured in the photos. I can see stopping for a few days in Singapore en route to Asia – maybe one day.
That temple with all the statues looks amazing.
The one of the Sri Mariamman Temple is really cool!
Singapore’s Chinatown is my favourite in all of SE Asia. This great photo essay has reminded me of how much I want to go back.
I didn’t realize they had a Chinatown in Singapore and I wouldn’t have imagined that it looked like this. Lovely, Denise. From the looks of your photos, I’d say you had fun in Singapore.
Beautiful pictures that perfectly captured a beautiful part of Singapore. We were in Singapore last century and loved their Chinatown because it was cheap, vibrant and the cleanest Chinatown we’ve ever seen. I loved those towering statues. Were they the ones in the border with Little India? Looks like you had a great stopover.
What wonderful, colorful photos! I especially like the one of the purple and white building facades. I haven’t been to Singapore except in its airport a couple of times, but I can imagine it was a nice place to stop after 2 months in Vietnam.
I love Singapore and I miss living there sometimes…. especially when it is cold, rainy and windy here in Melbourne like today! It gets NEVER cold in Singapore!
I love these pictures! I want to live in that purple house!!
What exotic images. A delightful Series!
They also have one of the best and old Chinatown in Manila. I’ve heard it’s very good.
Hey,
those are very nice photos of Chinatown. Even though I’m a Singaporean and I pass by Chinatown almost every week, I still find your photos amazing!
Thanks for showcasing Singapore’s Chinatown to the world.
